Passage begins with a material accident. In 2024, a porcelain bowl was deformed and damaged during firing. Rather than being discarded, the interrupted form was continued with needle-felted wool.
From this first object, a series of four works developed, bringing the hardness and fragility of porcelain into contact with the softness of wool. Small 3D-printed resin human figures introduce another scale and transform the vessel from an object into a territory.
Each work explores a different relationship between interior and exterior, support and passage, wholeness and interruption. Passage follows how damage can become the beginning of a new world—a space that can be inhabited, traversed, and mentally walked through.

Passage I
The originating work in the series: the interrupted porcelain form is continued through needle-felted wool.

Passage III
The vertical vessel becomes a support and passage for a soft line that continually changes direction.

Passage IV
The porcelain inner element, wrapped in needle-felted wool, remains an independent movable part placed inside the bowl.
