drawing, collage composition and colour on paper
The Colour of the Narrative is an artistic experiment that brings together the pure colour field, the collage composition, and the drawing of a face. In each triptych, colour moves through different modes of narration—from immediate sensory presence, through abstract structure, to the face as a bearer of memory, character, and emotion. The project asks whether colour can function as language, whether a face can be read as a narrative, and how meaning changes as it moves from word to colour, from colour to form, and from form to the human image. The three elements do not illustrate one another; together they create a field of analogies and multiple readings.

research context
The project is connected to the artist’s paper presented at the 2nd International Scientific Conference Colour and Language, organised by Colour Group Bulgaria and the Faculty of Classical and Modern Philology, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, on 1 June 2016. The revised bilingual online edition was prepared in 2026. The English text is an adapted translation; the poems seek to preserve the imagery, rhythm, and atmosphere of the Bulgarian originals rather than claim word-for-word equivalence.
